RIP Ray Bradbury

Today, we are all a little less rich in the world.  Ray Bradbury, author of many books, passes away last night.  With his passing, we lose a man of irredeemable quality and genius.  My favorite book that he wrote was Fahrenheit 451, without a doubt.  It still terrifies me to read it and realize how close we are as a society to achieving that vision...and we don't even need the firemen, since we will simply do it to ourselves.

His writing was influential to many, and I hope that we will all keep in mind the vision and legacy that Mr. Bradbury leaves behind him.  I will leave you with this quote from an interview on December 1, 2011 from bbc.com.  He made this comment in regards to Fahrenheit 451 being converted to e-book format. and I hope that after reading this blog entry, some of you will shut down your computer and go find someone to talk with in person.  Have a conversation about anything but the internet, memes or the newest television show.

We have got to get rid of those machines. We have too many machines now."
